Before heading over to the big Beckstravaganza at Crew Stadium, I took in some free exhibition hockey at Ohio State, where the Buckeyes were taking on York of the OUA at the Ice Rink. Although the first period was fairly even, it quickly turned into a blowout in the second. OSU wound up winning the game 9-3. Don’t think I’d read too much into that in terms of what this season holds for the experience-light Buckeyes, but it was fun to watch anyway.
Incidentally, York has a Daniel Torres from Markham on their team. Is this Raffi’s brother or other relative? And when did York stop being the Yeomen and become the Lions?

That second period was a massacre. They showed grit, but the defense is very, very young.
Dalpe has some nice skills, hope Markell does not coach them out of him.

Hi, nice blog …. York became the Lions in 2003, and to answer your query, yes Daniel Torres is Raffi’s brother.
Daniel had a goal and an assist for the Lions in their opener tonight, 3-0 win over Queen’s.
