No CBJs for the USA

First 18 members of Team USA for the upcoming IIHF World Championships named. No CBJ players among them. It was reported last month that USA Hockey had invited Dan Fritsche, Ron Hainsey and Brian Boucher, but the first two are nursing injuries and Boucher, well, he kinda sucks.

Congrats to Miami forward Nathan Davis on being named to Team USA. This guy is one of my favorite college players right now, and a Cleveland native to boot. Too bad he’s been drafted by the Blackhawks and not the CBJ.

Incidentally, Rick Nash and Jason Chimera will suit up for Canada. I’m assuming David Vyborny will be playing for the Czech Republic, but I haven’t heard anything definitive yet. No word on other Jackets suiting up for their countries.
