Pretty decent first period by the CBJ’s. Manny made his presence felt quickly in his return to active duty, scoring the only goal of the period. Hopefully this presages some better secondary scoring from the Jackets, as that’s been a constant area of concern this season.
I toyed with the idea of going to this one, since the meeting I’d assumed would go late actually ended early. But I’m feeling a bit stretched financially at the moment, with buying Christmas presents. And I’m also faced now with buying my fourth coffeemaker in four years, as the latest one fell victim to my apparent attempt to burn down my house last night. So I’m staying home and watching on TV with the already-been-paid-for beer (Bluegrass Brewing Company Dark Star Porter — I’m really enjoying BBC beers of late. Glad I gave them another try beyond their Pale Ale, of which I am not fond).
And just since I’m being off-topic and talking about the BBC (ha ha ha), I must note that Life On Mars has returned to BBC America for Season Two. If you’re not watching it yet, you should. It’s one of the best shows I’ve seen in a long time.
Back on topic — just hoping for more of the same from the Jackets in the final two periods. Time to win on home ice (and not give away the loser point, either).
