BREAKING NEWS:
Sources tell TSN the Columbus Blue Jackets and New York Rangers have completed a trade. The Rangers will get Nikolai Zherdev and Dan Fritsche, with Fedor Tyutin and Christian Backman going to Columbus.
Howson’d better have something else big up his sleeve…or the Jackets just traded a big hunk of their already anemic offense for a couple of defensemen who don’t quite seem to fill that “#1” hole. Don’t get this one…

My thoughts exactly. This says two things to me when I take emotion out of the equation.
1) There is something big up his sleeve. Morrison and more?
2) Kris Russell will be a Crunch defenseman this year, no big surprise.
Wow… just wow.
Tyutin has been a very good player for the Rangers over the last couple of years. He hasn’t quite reached his potential. He could potentially develop into a 1st line defender. I’m not sure what it was but he never quite lived up to what I thought he could be. Hopefully, he does get better. Backman was terrible in the short time I saw him as a Ranger. Good luck with Tyuts.
